Process

I have recently purchased a Cricut machine in the hopes that I can make clean stencils to apply to my pieces when I want uniformity. So far, I have only tested vinyl stencils on bisque-fired pieces, but I want to test how paper stencils work on greenware, as well.

Whether I’m seeking out uniformity through a stencil, or simply sketching out my initial ideas, I tend to favor my iPad for these beginning stages. While I used to exclusively draw my stencils and paper resist traditionally, I have come to rely on the steadiness that digital art offers nowadays. I also have the added bonus of being able to watch whatever show I am currently enjoying once the beginning creative stages that require my iPad are complete.
